Kerry Admits China's Significant Lead in the Field of renewable energy construction

On September 22, local time, U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry admitted during an interview on a U.S. National Broadcasting Corporation program that China is significantly ahead in the field of renewable energy construction.


Kerry stated that China is currently establishing its domestic renewable energy industry, saying, 'It's no exaggeration to say that China is now deploying and producing more renewable energy than the rest of the world combined.'


Kerry emphasized that climate issues should not be politicized because they are a threat that all of us need to face together, stating, 'We all need to be involved.'


Kerry mentioned that in the realm of climate governance and new energy, the United States needs China and hopes to cooperate with China.


On September 19, local time, Chinese Vice President Han Zheng met with Kerry in New York during the United Nations General Assembly. Han Zheng expressed that the ongoing climate dialogue and cooperation between China and the United States are of significant importance to both countries and the world. Kerry praised China's achievements in addressing climate change and expressed the U.S. government's willingness to engage in dialogue and cooperation with China in areas related to climate change.
